Abstract: Includes Public and Private Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee from 1823 to 1833. Includes acts to incorporate the towns of Hartsville, Mount Pleasant, Surgoinsville, and others. For example, Chapter CCXXIV states, "Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, That inhabitants of the town of Surgoinsville, in the county of Hawkins, are hereby constituted a body politic and corporate, by the name of the chairman and commissioners of the town of Surgoinsville, with all the rights, powers, privileges and capacities that are extended to the inhabitants of the town of Newport...
