The Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO) is a 11-course fee-based program that includes an exam at the end of each course. Courses are offered every month except for June. This program can be completed in one calendar year.
All tests both online and in-person must be taken by December 20, 2023. The testing cutoff date is necessary to ensure all grades and records are finalized before the end of the calendar year.
Additionally, all online testing will be suspended as of December 20th until further notice pending installation of new software. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause next year. Test-outs and retests are still available in-person and may be scheduled with the appropriate MTAS office.
If you would like to test in person, please select the desired location: https://calendly.com/jackson-cmfo or https://calendly.com/knoxville-cmfo. If you would like to retest in Nashville, please contact michelle.buckner@tennessee.edu for a list of upcoming test dates and times.
