Abstract: The decision for truck company firefighters and officers greatly depends on the condition of the property, fire behavior, and staffing. Firefighters who have experience with fires in vacant structures might be more comfortable making quick decisions about when to search. Training and drills that focus on such scenarios can broaden sound decision-making.
