U.S. Supreme Court makes it harder for cities to block group homes in single-family neighborhoods

In a 6 - 3 decision which favored group homes for the disabled, the United States Supreme Court decided that a city's zoning code provision describing who may compose a "family" was not a restriction exempt from Fair Housing Act scrutiny.
