Resolution to remove the municipality from the application of mandatory allowance of the manufacture of alcoholic beverages

Any city that wishes to ensure that neither a distillery nor high alcohol content beer manufacturer operates within its jurisdiction should take immediate steps to adopt a resolution removing the city from the application of TCA 57-2-103(d). Failure to complete this action prior to the end of the 45-day grace period could result in your city being precluded from exercising its ability to opt out of the law. This 45-day grace period began to toll upon the effective date of the bill, July 1st, making August 15th the final day to remove your city from application.

Fire station location study for the city of Union City, Tennessee

In response to a request for assistance from Union City Fire Chief Karl Ullrich, MTAS conducted a fire station location study for use in planning for the future of fire and life safety service delivery in Union City, Tennessee. MTAS reviewed the current organization and structure of the fire department and the community to provide information and potential sites for the location and operation of a new fire station to supplement the two which are already in service. Areas within the Union City Rural Fire Protection District (Appendix A) but outside of the current municipal limits and Union City urban growth planning boundary were not considered in this study. Additional reviews will be required for final site selection for the construction of a new fire station.
