Water and sewer review for the town of Brighton, Tennessee

The Town of Brighton received an Administrative Order from the Water and Wastewater Financing Board dated December 8, 2022 (Attachment A). The Town of Brighton has been referred to the Board for financial distress since the fiscal year 2018 audit. The order from the Board required the Town to work with a third party to verify its rates are set in a manner to remedy its financial distress. 


The Town signed a letter of agreement with Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) to perform a rate study and assist the town with the other requirements of the order, which are addressed in this report in the same order listed in the administrative order. Disclaimer: MTAS utilized the Town of Brighton’s audited financial data from
