The Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) participated in the Lakesite Parks and Recreation Advisory Board's strategic planning process on February 20, 2024. The session began with an overview of the strategic planning process. The objectives of the process were to create a mission statement, scan the internal and external environments via SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), create a vision statement, and then to devise goals to guide the Board in achieving its vision. The next step in the process of strategic planning is to narrow down the list of goals. The city manager will provide further information regarding the goals listed. At a later time, the Board will gather to narrow down the goals based on staff information.

A resolution adopting rules for public comments, pursuant to T.C.A. § 8-44-112. Restrictions on the public comment segment of local government meetings include giving notice in advance by signing up at city hall by a certain date/time prior to the date of the meeting.

MTAS was asked whether state immunity under the 11th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution applies to municipalities with respect to application of the Family and Medical Leave Act.
