The Get Alarmed, TN! program has been very successful in reducing residential fire fatalities, and a smoke alarm inspection/installation program should be part of every community's residential inspection program and focused fire prevention efforts. From 2011-2014, reported structure fires decreased by 20.6 percent and fire fatalities decreased by 25.7 percent.
