Association Meetings and Conferences

When attending an association conference (like TML, TGFOA, TPMA, etc.):

  • MTAS staff who work registration should count the number of city officials who attend as contacts.
  • Any MTAS person who facilitates or presents at a conference, should count the number of people in their session as contacts.
  • MTAS personnel should also count any city official they talk with during breaks or meals as a contact.
  • People who work at the MTAS booth during a conference like TML should count the number of city officials who attend as contacts.

Training

When recording contacts in work reporting, we differentiate between classes in our Learning Management System (k@te) and ones that are not.

  • If you facilitate or instruct a MTAS training session that has a signature roster and is coordinated by the training team, do NOT add contacts to work reporting.  Doing so double counts these participants.
  • If you attend a MTAS training session that has a signature roster and meet with customers outside of the class, count those interactions as contacts.
  • If you instruct a session without a roster (ex. a strategic planning session at a council retreat), count the number of participants as contacts and record them in work reporting.
