Often on an incident firefighters are asked to provide, or voluntarily provide, fire safety information to the occupants. Such encounters allow fire department members to educate the public on fire safety. ISO considers such activities as public fire safety education and the community can receive credit towards community risk reduction credit for the ISO evaluation. To receive the credit, the effort must be documented.
