The Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) was requested to look at the intersection of Wilkinson Lane and Calista Road in order to see if the intersections meets the warrants for an all-way stop. This was formerly a “T” intersection, with Calista being the through street with no stopping or yielding and Wilkinson “T”-ing into Calista and the Wilkinson traffic being required to stop. However, a new subdivision is being built on the east side of Calista at this location, and Wilkinson is being extended, beginning at the existing intersection. The subdivision will have 225 or so homes at build out, which will significantly impact traffic at this intersection. This future traffic impact raised concerns at the City, and White House Public Works Supervisor Isaiah Manfredi contacted MTAS and raised the question as to whether or not the impacted intersection would meet the requirements for making it all-way stop.
