Abstract: Waterford Township in Camden County recently finished restructuring virtually its entire organization from business administration to construction office to public works in order to achieve cost savings for its taxpayers. They did so without having to hire a private consultant or pay a single penny. Township officials contacted the Local Assistance Bureau at the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and asked for technical assistance. The Local Assistance Bureau (LAB) employs an innovative approach to local services, utilizing experienced local government professionals and data-driven analytics to provide comprehensive management consulting services to local governments throughout the state.
