Improving quality of life : the effect of aligning local service delivery and public health goals

Abstract: Local governments serve as the foundation for public health by providing residents safe drinking water, sanitation, roads and sidewalks, parks, public safety, and other services. To address these needs, local governments are redesigning their communities, investing in active transportation, and undertaking new public education and outreach programs.
