RE: Tomi Rogers to fill IPS Human Resources Officer position

Hello all,

I am pleased to announce that Ms. Tomi Rogers has accepted the offer to fill our IPS Human Resources Officer position, formerly held by Ms. Judie Martin. Tomi will assume the position effective on February 1, 2017.

We will share more details in a more formal announcement early in 2017 but I wanted to get the news out before our holiday break.

Also, I want to thank several folks. First, I’m grateful to Judie as she has continued to flawlessly perform the duties of the job on a post-retirement appointment since July 1, 2016. In addition, she has agreed to spend some time with Tomi to make a smooth hand-off on duties in 2017. I’m also thankful to Don Green, for chairing the search committee; and of course the committee members that served, Wendy Eddy, Mike Herbstritt, Jill Marling, Libby McCroskey, and Richard Stokes. They did a great job and brought in four highly qualified candidates with a variety of skill sets.

Finally, it is very quiet here at 1610 University Avenue at the moment. This has been a nice afternoon to get some work done, and to reflect on the great work all of you have done and are doing each day. Thank you for representing the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service and your agency with distinction. We have a high calling. You have met the challenges of the year, and then some. Thanks for all you do!
