Tommie Goodwin, Mayor, Trenton - Tommie suffered a fatal heart attack Monday evening. He had been Mayor since 1984, was chairman of the Risk Management Pool, past President of TML, and former Mayor of the Year for TML. David and I attended the visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday evening. I've never seen so many flowers; you could not see the walls of the funeral home. Ronnie and I attended the funeral Wednesday. The Trenton Police Department served as honorary pallbearers. The church was packed with close to 300 people including the Mayors of Franklin, Millington, Three-Way, Humboldt, Jackson, Alamo, Pulaski, Dyersburg, and Ripley. Also present were Bones Seivers with the TML Bond Fund, Lee Holland and Mike Fann with the TML Risk Management Pool, Congressman John Tanner, and Ross Loder and Margaret Mahery with TML. It was a crowded church and I may have missed someone. It was particularly touching to see so many Trenton city staff members present.

We have scheduled the APR interviews in Jackson on February 3; in Nashville on February 4 & 5; and in Knoxville on February 10, 11, & 12. Please contact your supervisor if you have any questions about the form.

Sick Leave Bank - For the members of the Sick Leave Bank you've seen the email from Mary Taylor explaining the deduction for November. If you are not a member you should consider joining. It's a way to deal with the leave that a serious illness might require. Please call Nancy or Daisy if you have any questions.
