And the Winner is. . . The Presidential election is over and so we have the results of our staff poll. The final election percentages were: Clinton 49%; Dole 41%; and Perot 8%. The winner on staff was Ronnie Neill with a prediction of Clinton 48%; Dole 41% and Perot 8%. As a prize, I'll buy Ronnie's lunch (low cholesterol only).

Telecommunications Consultant - Lissa Gay started work today in the Knoxville office as the Telecommunications Consultant. This position is funded with an ARC grant and its purpose is to help cities and counties connect to and use the Internet. The position is housed at MTAS but Lissa will spend half her time with counties.

Lissa's last position was as Communications Coordinator for the Dean of Science at Texas A&M where she did a lot of Internet publishing.

Please contact Lissa if you have any ideas for ways to encourage cities and counties to use the Internet. Thanks.

347 With the addition of Bean Station (in Grainger County) we now have 347 cities (but that also includes Hickory Withe and we're still waiting on the final decision on that one.)
