Campus Chest - As you know from Daisy's email last week, WE DID IT! Thanks to everyone, particularly to Daisy for following up, MTAS exceeded its goal and 100% of the staff gave something. We can't ask for anything more and I'm sure all the different charities and the people they help are very grateful. THANKS.

Travel Trick - When you are going to a conference, it is sometimes possible to beat the conference rate if you ask the reservation agent for the state rate before you ask for the conference rate. We will still reimburse you the conference rate, but you could save us $20 or $30 a night the other way.

TCMA guest speaker - Gary put on another great TCMA conference in Gatlinburg last week. Here's a copy of what one of the speakers said. He talked about cities all around the country, but I found that much of what he said applies to Tennessee cities.

LGLP - The nominations and invitations for the November session of the Local Government Leadership Program are continuing. Here's a list of the 18 people who have registered so far. 9 are from cities.
And, we are helping with four more LGLP sessions in 2003. If you haven't already sent additional nominations to Kim, now would be a good time to do it. Here's the form.

Training changes letter - Today, we are mailing a letter to all key contacts explaining some of the changes in our training program. We're including a flyer announcing the City University state wide classes for the next six months.CORRECTED VERSION

Staff Meetings CANCELLED - I've been designated to attend LGLP the week after next, so our staff meetings scheduled for November 12 in Jackson, November 13 in Nashville, and November 14 in Knoxville are cancelled.
