This covers some of the items we mentioned during the video staff meeting and most of the items we missed.

Tennessee Municipal Bond Fund The Bond Fund, Bones Seivers, President, has made a large donation to the Bingham Consultancy. It will contribute $50,000 over the next two years. In addition, the Tennessee County Services Loan Program will contribute $50,000 to the CTAS program. If you see Bones, tell him THANKS!

Capacity building We have used our new way of reporting capacity building in Project Reporting to good effect. One way to summarize what we have done is: "During the first quarter MTAS consultants completed 108 capacity building projects with seventy-seven cities. The average time spent per project was twenty-nine hours and the average increase in capacity was 27%." Please keep using it for projects that apply. Also, please take a second look at it when you close a project. Thanks.

Professional Development IPS has asked us to update our professional development plan and to include more opportunities for job related training beyond the conferences we have already listed. Please let me know if there is a training program or seminar that you feel would contribute to your job. Thanks.

Project Reporting Almost everyone is keeping their project reporting up-to-date. I am going to get louder and louder in my reminders to the three or four who cannot do that.

Recruitment Telecommunications Consultant We have completed the interviews and are waiting for approval from the UT human resources department before making an official offer. We hope to have a decision by November 1.

Recruitment Sr. Management Consultant We completed the interviews and I am making reference checks. After that is complete, we will make a tentative selection and send the paperwork to IPS and then to Human Resources.

New Officials Carol says that she picked up two or three bits of information on official changes in the discussions this morning. Please remember to send her an E-mail when you learn about city managers or other city officials who are hired or fired, etc. This helps keep our directory up to date.

Presidential Poll I'll include a copy of the results of our very unscientific presidential poll in the current issues discussion database under "Presidential Poll". You may make comments and update your prediction there.
