STAFF UPDATE
October 25, 1993

* Telephone Surveys We've enclosed the latest library telephone surveys: Garbage collection policies for curbside service for the disabled and Subdivision development cost provisions.

Requests for MTAS Publications Now that we are all connected electronically, it is easier than ever to have publications sent to city officials and other good folk. All you do is send: 1) the name of the publication, 2) the name of the official and 3) the Tennessee city to Emily via email and she will get them out that day or the next. Her email ID is MTASPUBS . Also, we will add a note saying "This publication is sent to you at Randy Williams' request" (insert the appropriate name) so the city official will know why and how they got the publication. We do this quite often now when either MTAS pubs or library materials are sent to a city official. And, if you like, Emily will respond to you via email letting you know the date the pub was mailed.

If you forget the MTASPUBS email name for Emily, just send the request to anyone in the library and we'll see that it gets to her. Don't forget, most of your support staff is really right here in Knoxville, so don't hesitate to use them!

* Sales Tax Our sales tax receipts continue to exceed our FY94 budget projections. We've enclosed a graph.

* Management Team Meeting One of the smaller elements in our strategic plan calls for distribution of the minutes of the management team minutes after each meeting. These were too long to send Email, but here they are.

IPS Retreat 1994 I've asked Rick Stokes to serve as the MTAS representative on the IPS retreat planning committee for next year.

MTAS Retreat 1994 I've asked the state-wide consultants team (Sally, Rick, Carol, JimF, Ray and SharonF) to design the MTAS retreat for 1994. They'll ask for your help if they want to.

GFOA1999 The Tennessee chapter of the Government Finance Officers Association has submitted a bid to host the national conference at the Opryland Hotel in 1999. The conference is almost half again as large as ICMA, but by then Opryland will have completed their 1,000 room addition and be able to accommodate them.
* UTMT 1994 We've enclosed a list of the courses to be taught by MTAS during 1994.
