Roy Eckert - It's with mixed emotion that I tell you that Roy Eckert has resigned effective September 30 to accept the position of city manager of the City of Ketchikan, Alaska (yes, Alaska!). It's a city of over 8,000 at the southern end of Alaska. As Roy says, it's just 650 miles from Seattle.

It's a great opportunity for Roy, but lousy for the rest of us. We'll miss him.
