Training - August 23, 2002
You've had the email from Mary announcing changes in the city and county training programs. All municipal training programs will be managed by MTAS. Together with CGT we really have increased the quality and quantity of municipal training available to city officials over the last several years. This new arrangement will provide an opportunity for these growing programs to really take off. Before we take off, though, we need to be sure where we're going. During the next month, the management team will work with all our current and new training consultants to develop a clear understanding of where we want to take municipal training for the next several years.

We are pleased to welcome Kurt Frederick, Debbie Howell, Susan Jackson, and Jim Rhody to MTAS. This is effective September 1. As with all of the changes in municipal training, we will work out some of the details of who will be doing what and where everyone's office will be over the next month.

One other point is that we will change the location of our Nashville office. CIS will move to CGT's office on Polk Avenue and the MTAS office will move to the 6th floor of the Capital Boulevard Building. I know we just spent a lot of time and effort rearranging our space on the first floor, but we didn't know these changes were coming at the time. So, we may have to pull out our Allen wrenches and rearrange cubicles again. Our goal is to have all the office moves accomplished by November 30.

And that's what I know now. I will keep you informed as our training program continues to evolve.
Thanks.
