IPS Staff,
Next Thursday, September 5 the UT Board of Trustees’ Executive and Compensation Committee will meet in Nashville. One of the topics on the agenda will be the use of the University Avenue property in Knoxville that was approved for acquisition by the university earlier this year.
The UT System will recommend that the IPS Central Office, MTAS and the Knoxville CIS and CTAS regional offices relocate to one of the University Avenue properties. We anticipate that the board will approve this recommendation, and we will relocate to this area just north of the UT Knoxville campus
There are many details to address related to this proposed move. If the board approves the relocation, the buildings still need to be painted, carpeted and prepared for occupying, therefore it would be several months before the move happens.
If this becomes a reality, it will be the first time in its history that IPS has a headquarters office off the main UTK campus.
