STAFF UPDATE
August 18, 1993

Federal Law Enforcement Funds The Department of Justice has asked TML for mailing labels for cities and towns in Tennessee. The Department of Justice will use these labels to announce the $150 million program in direct federal grants to cities and towns to hire additional sworn law enforcement personnel. The announcement will be made as soon as funds are available.

* IPS Annual Conference We've enclosed a DRAFT agenda for the IPS annual conference. It's in Gatlinburg on September 8 & 9. Please look at the program and note the two General Sessions with the IPS agency directors. If you have any suggestions for what I should cover during my part, please let me know.

* Sales Tax Our receipts continue to exceed our budget projects. I've done the graph a little differently this month. We are comparing our receipts for FY94 to a target figure each month that is based on the average proportion of receipts in that month and our budget for the year. So far, we're ahead of our projections by almost $8,000, but the fiscal year has just begun.

* UT Clubs We are enclosing a pamphlet on the various giving clubs available to you at UT. All you Century Club members need to think about joining the Third Century Club.

* Telephone Surveys We've enclosed several telephone surveys.
