LGDPC Board
Dick Phebus has completed a three year term on the board of directors of the Local Government Data Processing Corporation. He serves as the MTAS representative. They are staggering their board terms so I have reappointed him to the board for a five year term this time. Dick does a great job representing cities and MTAS on the board. If you ever have any questions about LGDPC, please let Dick know.

State Budget
The situation hasn't changed much since last week. The University is unable to take any action on the 2 1/2% state wide pay increase until the Governor signs the budget bill (or vetoes it). The Governor has ten calendar days (not counting Sundays) from the time he receives the budget. He did not officially receive it until last Tuesday and so the ten day period does not expire until Saturday, July 28. Because of the amount of work involved in preparing pay checks for 12,000 people, it's very unlikely that we will see any changes in our checks for July. As soon as we know something, I'll pass it on, but you are likely to get an email from President Eli Fly first.
Salary Plan
While we are talking about salaries here's another item. You received an email from DonnaL last week saying I was unable to give her a raise. We use our four year old salary plan to govern our salary decisions. The management team and I will review the salary plan with everyone individually as part of our annual performance review process in January 2002. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the salary plan or your salary, please see me. If you're in Jackson, Martin, Nashville, or Johnson City, call me and we'll pick a time when I'm in town next. Thanks.
