APRs - We've started the annual performance review interviews. Mike, Sharon, Lisa, Nancy, and Steve are doing most of them. I only have a few to handle. We have a picture of my first one.

Leave Policy - We've adopted a more formal annual and sick leave policy. It is what everyone has followed, but now it's in writing.

Leave Policy and Procedures

The UT policy for annual and sick leave is shown below:

Policy 305 1 g. Annual leave may not be taken until accrued and may not be advanced. Leave must be approved in advance by the supervisor. Failure to follow departmental procedure in requesting leave and obtaining approval may result in the use of leave being denied.

Police 380 1 e. Sick leave may not be taken until accrued and may not be advanced. When possible, e.g. medical appointments, it must be approved in advance by the supervisor. Failure to follow departmental procedure in requesting leave may result in the use of leave being denied.

The MTAS annual leave policy is that all annual leave is to be requested in advance using the MTAS Time Reporting database. Leave should be requested as far in advance as possible.

If you know about it in advance, sick leave is to be requested in advance. If you are sick and unable to work then sick leave is to be requested when you return, but a phone call to your supervisor on the day of the absence will let us know where you are.

Any leave without pay request must be approved in advance by the Executive Director.

Family medical leave (FMLA) is required by UT for any sick leave in excess of three days. We will prepare the paperwork and send it to you.
