Employee Engagement Results:
This morning the IPS senior leadership team and Judie Martin met via conference call with Rich Boyer from Modern Think regarding the results of our recent Employee Engagement Survey . Below is the document he sent to us regarding the results.
During our nearly 90 minute call Rich indicated the results are “good news.” Movement of 5-8 points between surveys is considered reasonable and IPS had an overall 8 point movement (that is a combination of higher positives and lower negatives).
On 24 of the 65 statements IPS had double digit improvement and on three statements IPS had double digit negative decline.
He made a particular point of speaking to:
· “my job makes good use of my skills and abilities “ with a 22 point improvement,
· “my supervisor actively solicits my suggestions and ideas” with a 22 point improvement,
· “there is regular and open communication among administration and staff” with a 19 point improvement,
· “the UT system provides adequate support to this institute” with an 18 point improvement and
· “my agency is a good place to work” with a 17 point improvement.
We have significant room for improvement on:
· “our review process accurately measures my job performance” with a 12 point decline,
· “our orientation program prepares new administration and staff to be effective” with a 21 point decline and
· “I understand how merit increases are determined” with a 20 point decline.
As I indicated in an earlier message, each agency will receive individual agency results in meetings during the next few weeks, and the IPS-wide results will be released at annual conference where Rich will make a presentation to all staff.
Thanks to all of you who participated in this important process. Rich indicated about 65% of participants also provided comments on at least one question. He will summarize these results into themes and will also present those during annual conference.
I look forward to the opportunity to share all the results and have meaningful discussions on how we can all continue to work together to make IPS an Employer of Choice .
Thanks,
Mary
