Good morning, fellow MTASers,

This past Thursday, the UT Board of Trustees approved the University’s fiscal year 2106 budget. The budget included the university-wide plan for salary adjustments which become effective July 1 st . I want you to know how those adjustments will be handled in MTAS. My objective in setting the adjustments was to maximize them for eligible employees in an equitable way within the limits of the pool of money available for the adjustments.

Each IPS agency budgeted for a 3% salary adjustment pool and each eligible employee will receive a 1% across-the-board increase (or $600, whichever is greater). In MTAS, the balance of the pool will be used for merit-based improvements. Our adjusted salaries will be in our July paychecks.

At our June Leadership Team meeting, the IPS directors chose to allocate the balance of the pool 60% to the top 25% of employees and 40% to the middle 50% of employees based on our 2014 Annual Performance Review (APR) scores. In MTAS, the top 25% had scores of 22, 21 and 20 and the middle 50% had scores of 19, 18 and 17. Employees with APR of 22 will receive a 4% merit adjustment. Scores of 21 will receive a 3.75% merit adjustment. Scores of 20 will receive a 3.5% merit adjustment. Scores of 19 will receive a 2% merit adjustment. Scores of 18 will receive a 1.75% merit adjustment. Scores of 17 will receive a 1.5% merit adjustment. Merit adjustments are in addition to the across-the-board increase.

Sometime during the week after the July 4 th holiday, each of us will receive a letter from Herb which will have information about our specific salaries effective July 1 st . In the meantime, feel free to get with me if you have questions.

…and continue knowing that the good work each of you do every day is recognized and appreciated. Thank you.
