· Happy to report that a cold front passed through Nashville a couple hours ago. It’s now a comfortable 92 degrees…much cooler than yesterday. Wonder what it’s going to be like when summer gets here.

· We have all received information from Dr. DiPietro and Herb this week about guns on university property. Quite frankly, I’m a little confused by some of what I’ve read and I’m working to get clarification. I strongly recommend that you err on the cautious side if you are considering carrying a weapon on university property and be perfectly clear of what is required and what the safety policy says before doing so. Let me know if I can help with that.

· I’ve mentioned this before but it’s important to do so again. The deadline for enrolling in the sick leave bank is nearing…June 30 th . I hope everybody will consider what it could mean to not be enrolled and get enrolled if it’s the right thing for you to do.

· Great presence of MTAS at the TML Conference in Gatlinburg last weekend and early this week…teaching, presenting, facilitating presentations, working registration and staffing the MTAS booth (thanks Becky and Armintha) in the exhibit area. Thanks to everybody giving up some or all of a weekend to lend a hand.

· Happy birthday, Gary Jaeckel, next Tuesday…June 21 st . Your 39 th , right?

· Thanks, Jeff Broughton, for three years of contributions to MTAS and your customers. Jeff joined us on June 24, 2013.

· Lastly, remember a few things…
o What each of you do every day for our customers and each other is recognized and appreciated. Really! It is!

o Gardner Dickinson was a professional golfer in the 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s. He once said, “They say golf is like life, but don't believe them. It's more complicated than that”. Some days on the golf course, I certainly know where he was coming from.
