New Travel Procedures - We are making some progress in figuring out an easier way for our staff to deal with the new IRIS computerized travel policies and procedures. Here's what we know so far. You still need to close out all your FY05 travel as of June 24 and submit a T-3 as usual for that. All future travel will be in the new system. We think we will have a way for you to continue to enter your travel in the T-3 Notes database. We will have to make several modifications to the database so we may lock everyone out of it until July 15. You will need to keep your travel expenses on paper in the interim. Thanks for your patience. We'll have this figured out soon.

TML - The TML conference is over. Everyone from MTAS who was there was busy and productive. Armintha and Sandy worked long hours helping with TML registration and staffing the MTAS booth. Yana and Jennifer worked long hours Saturday and Sunday with the best attended Elected Officials Academy we have ever had! (And I'm sure everyone else was busy - it's just too long of a list to type.)

Mayor of the Year is Tommy Bragg from Murfreesboro.
The Standby your Spouse award went to Carol Green, wife of Tommy Green, Mayor of Alamo.
The TCMA city manager of the year award went to Mike Walker of Brentwood.

IPS Awards - Nominations for the IPS awards are due July 21. It's too early to panic, but so far there has only been one nomination from all IPS agencies. Please remember if we don't nominate anyone from MTAS then no one from MTAS will win. Here's a link to the database in case you want to start early. Thanks.
