NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR PUBLIC OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR AWARD
Governing magazine is currently inviting nominations for its annual Public Officials of the Year awards. Top-level elected, appointed and career officials from any branch of state or local government are eligible. Winners will be profiled in the magazine’s November issue. Seven of the 11 officials honored in 2003 were from the South, including Alabama Governor Bob Riley, Louisville (KY) Mayor Jerry Abramson, Charleston (SC) Mayor Joe Riley, Kansas City (MO) Auditor Mark Funkhouser, Norfolk (VA) City Manager Regina Williams, and Fairfax County (VA) information officers David Molchany and Wanda Gibson. APR forms - We are revising the APR forms. They will be ready by Friday. Lisa will send you an email with a link to the new form. Remember our schedule is:
6/30 Everyone needs to have their APR form completed.
7/19 - 7/23 Sharon and Mike will conduct the Jackson and Nashville APRs.
7/26 - 7/30 Sharon and Mike will conduct the Knoxville APRs.
7/30 All other APRs will be completed by the end of July.
8/10 We'll need a complete and signed copy of all APR's in Knoxville so we can submit them to IPS and UT Human Resources.

Sick Leave Bank - Registration for the sick leave bank is now open. Here is the link -

You may have read about it in the May issue of the IPS EXCHANGE. The problem with the sick leave bank is that you don't realize how important it is until you need it then if you have not already enrolled, you are not eligible. Please think about joining.
