Update #17:

We do have progress to report with the move to the new building and with this note I’ll bring you to speed with the project.

o The committees continue to hold discussions on their area of service, and the committee discussions are captured in the SharePoint site at
https://utworks.tennessee.edu/ips/1610/SitePages/Home.aspx .

o The State Fire Marshal’s Office has approved the plans for the modifications to the building, including the placement of the library that we have requested on the 1 ^st floor. These plans have been placed on the SharePoint site as the LATEST Building Plans under the heading of the Project Management Team.

o The campus (UTK) is hoping to have the plans out for bids late this week or early next week, and is planning for tentative project completion July 28 ^th .

o Work is still underway on moving details with the Logistics Team. You may have seen some of the UTK staff coming through the offices for a personal view of the furniture to be moved.

o Herb has suggested that we take a deliberate approach to community engagement and to how IPS can be involved in and to be a good neighbor in the Mechanicsville neighborhood. The members of the IPS staff that have been involved with the project management team met March 16 to explore this topic, and we really had a great discussion about potential community leadership, events, sponsors and parking. This will be something that we continue to explore and discuss as we head towards the move.
