TML Conference - 97 cities attended the TML conference in Nashville last year. That's a lot of cities but it's only 28% of the total of 349. I've asked the management consultants to target some of the larger cities in their area who did not attend last year for personal invitations. The conference is June 8 - 10 in Knoxville with all of Friday, June 7 devoted to several pre-conference sessions of the Elected Officials Academy. Please talk it up when you can. Here's the schedule for the Elected Officials Academy:
Foundations and Structure of TN Municipal Government (9 am -11 am)
Financial Review (9 am - 11 am)

Charter, Codes, Open Meetings & Open Records (Noon - 2 pm)
Personnel Overview (Noon - 2 pm)

Public Safety Review (2 pm - 4 pm)
Public Works (2 pm - 4 pm)

Team Development (4 pm - 6 pm)
Water/Wastewater systems (4 pm -6 pm)

Planning/Zoning (6 pm - 8 pm)
Leadership (6 pm - 8 pm)

Our goal is to fill up all of the Elected Officials Academy sessions AND to get closer to 50% of the cities to attend the conference.
