In one sense this is one of the worst parts of my job because I hate to see people leaving MTAS. In another sense, it is a nice part of the job to be able to announce that someone is starting something new in their life.

With that being said, I wanted to let you know that Janet Kelly is resigning, effective January 30, 2009, from her position as a part-time finance consultant for MTAS. She has had an opportunity come her way that may open the door to several other opportunities. Janet is continuing her teaching assignments and fortunately for us will be able to complete her CMFO development work in an extra service capacity. Janet was a vital part of our benchmarking program and has been an integral part of the creation of the CMFO program and will be missed. Please join me in wishing Janet the very best.

I also wanted to let you know that Steve Lobertini has announced his retirement effective February 27. Steve has managed and led the MTAS codification process for seventeen years and it has made great progress under his leadership. Steve has been a part of the MTAS family for a long time and will be missed. Please join me in thanking Steve for his long service to MTAS and Tennessee cities and in wishing him the best in his retirement.

Mike
