STAFF UPDATE
January 14, 1993

* Strategic Plan Here's the current draft of our strategic plan. I've changed to format to conform with the Goals, Objectives, Strategies, and Measurements format used by the University. I've also created a category called Internal Issues for those issues that are important enough to be in our plan but not far reaching enough to be submitted to the university administration. Take some time to read it through and let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Thanks.

* AllAmerica Cities Pulaski won in 1993. Is there a Tennessee city willing to apply in 1994? Let me know. Enclosed is a summary of the 1993 awards ceremony along with a letter Joe Sweat passed along from the National Civic League asking for referrals.

* More Than You Want To Know Here's a copy of the library's statistics report. You'll note that most of the indicators are similar for 1992 and 1993. You'll also note we've mailed almost 6,000 publications since July, 1993.
* Rensselaerville Institute In November, Sharon Rollins attended a program at the Rensselaerville Institute near Albany, N.Y. The program was held for several states including Tennessee. Sharon attended at the request of the state Department of Environment and Conservation. I asked her to prepare this short report.

* TML Legislative Conference Here's the schedule for this February meeting.

* Sales Tax State wide receipts continue to look good. Graph enclosed.
