Johnson City - One of the largest codes we have ever done and for one of the largest cities ever was adopted in December by the Johnson City council. Now that Steve and the codes team have finished Johnson City, can Chattanooga be far behind?

Mileage Rates Increased - The Treasurer's Office has announced: "In accordance with recent changes in State and Federal reimbursement rates, the mileage reimbursement rate for the use of a personal automobile increases from $.35 to $.38 per mile effective with travel on or after January 1, 2005."  We'll make the change in the T-3 database.

New, Revised, and Improved - The UT Office of Information Technology has revised, greatly improved, and expanded the courses available to all UT staff. Here's where they are:
http://www.oit.utk.edu/cbt/login

Even if you've been there before you will need to register as a first time user (since the system is new) using the link provided in the middle of the page. Your NetID is your UT logon and your password is some sort of combination of your birthday and Social Security number (if you don't know yours, and most people don't, check with either Lisa or Justin) Once logged in, follow these links:
  • Enter SmartForce CBT
  • Course Curricula
  • English (there are 14 other languages available if you'd like to try)
  • After selecting English there will be a menu of general topic areas (IT, communication, etc.). From that point there are a variety of COURSES available by TOPIC. The topics with the courses of most interest to us are: Business Skills Curricula and IT-end user curricula (most of the Microsoft stuff is here).

Let me know what you think of the courses and which ones you would suggest we offer to city officials.
    Thanks.
